Run for the Trees, the only fundraiser for Missoula’s urban forest, started in 1992 with a 5K and 1 mile fun run. In 2014 the 10K was added, and the course was moved from the Milwaukee Trail along the Clark Fork River to the heart of the urban forest. Every April, runners follow the course through Missoula’s historic neighborhoods and along beautiful, tree-lined streets.

Funds raised from this event each year go directly to purchasing the bare root trees for the Urban Forest Gravel Bed and are planted by Trees for Missoula volunteers every fall.

Run for the Trees is organized by Run Wild Missoula and Missoula Parks & Recreation. Trees for Missoula has been the proud major sponsor since 2011.

If you would like to support Missoula’s urban forest, see beautiful treed neighborhoods and get some exercise, be sure to register for Run for the Trees at www.runwildmisosula.org.

If you would like to support Missoula’s urban forest without running, there are many other volunteer opportunities available.
